About

Anticipate Healthcare is a hybrid primary care, performance optimization and longevity practice. My mission is to be a personal physician who acts as a partner in your pursuit for health. I am NOT a doctor who just orders labs and tells you “everything looks normal” or “here are your medications”.

Disclaimer: Most people don’t need a personalized physician to make the changes that will undoubtedly improve their health. In fact, the recommendations that I ultimately make to > 90% of my patients are:

  • Avoid smoking/nicotine
  • Avoid excessive alcohol use. Particularly >4 drinks weekly
  • Drink water throughout the day and with meals
  • Avoid a diet high in sugar or trans fat
  • Eat whole foods, with a healthy variety of macronutrients
  • Get enough protein in the day
  • Spend as much time as possible remaining active
  • Do something at least weekly that promotes muscle and strength building
  • Prioritize good quality sleep.
  • Have meaningful relationships and try to eat with other people.
  • Have 1-2 hours of the day where you are completely detached from your phone.
  • VERY RARELY is the answer: “move less”

If this is all so simple, then WHO would benefit from a personalized approach?

  • You are frequently overwhelmed by the amount of information online. You want someone in your corner who understands the science that guides the above principles and can help you make nuanced decisions that are guided by evidence of varying levels.
  • You’ve tried to make the above changes but there is something limiting you from doing so. This could be chronic pain, financial limitations, motivation, time, etc. You take prescription medications or treatment of medical conditions that are limiting you.
  • You’ve made a lot of these changes and have become addicted to the improvement it can bring to your life. Now you’re curious what other changes you can make to get even better in your career/relationship/athletics.
  • You haven’t found success with the current medical system, where you often wait weeks for an appointment, only get to spend a few minutes with your doctor, and aren’t given the opportunity to truly understand your health.
  • You don’t like getting a list of labs back without understanding what all the values mean.
